Osun Assembly Urges Ministry To Do More Work On Roads.

The State of Osun House of Assembly has urged the State Ministry of Works and Transports to double it's effort on road project across the nooks and crannies of the State.

Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation Hon. Taiwo Adebayo Olodo made this remarks known today at the ongoing budget defense exercise at the House of Assembly Osogbo.

He observed that the ministry is tasked with more responsibilities especially the roads construction across the state.

He commended the ministry on its previous assignments concerned roads construction and other projects in the state.

According to him, "The ministry of works and transport have make the state proud of good road network".

"So the Works and Transport need to double it's effort on infrastructure to nooks and crannies of the state" he added.

He also advised the Osun  Micro Credit Agency to liaise with the house of assembly committee on their grey areas.

In their various n the lawmakers advised the ministry to finish all the ongoing road projects across the state on time.

They also urged that the ministry must ensure good and quality work  done on the roads.

Meanwhile, the lawmakers commended the State road maintainace agency for effective work on the road while urging to double on their efforts.

The Commissioner for Works and Transports Hon. Omowaye Oluremi in his response observed that good road network is in the mind of the present administration in the state.

He noted that the state governor Mr Gboyega Oyetola is working on available resources to satisfy the people the state.

According to him, "No Constituency in the state will be left out in road projects. Each and every town will benefit on road construction".

"Some projects are cover in 2022 budget estimate. We are looking for synergy on our roads" he added.

He said that almost 100 converts has wash by rainfall since commencement of this year rainfall.

"Over 100 converts has was away y heavy rainfall this year".

He said that unless it's demanded, the speed breakers are not necessary on the roads.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperative and Empowerment Mr. Bode Olanipekun in his response solicited for the support of the house of assembly on their services.

He asked the house of assembly to consider the amendment bill  before the house.

Among the ministries, departments and agencies of government appeared for defense exercise including Ministry of Works and Transport, Office of Transportation, Osun Road Maintainace Agency, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Cooperatives and Osun Micro Credit Agency respectively.
