NYSC Warns Staff Against Corrupt Practices, Indiscipline

THE  National Youth Service Corps on Thursday called on staff members to conform to ethical standards to strengthen the fight against corruption.

The Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, represented by the Director (Human Resource Management), Hajiya Habiba Bappa, issued the warning at the induction and training of members of the NYSC Anti-corruption and Transparency Unit sub-units for Area Offices as well as state and FCT Secretariat.

According to him, the inauguration was a follow-up to the anti-corruption and transparency unit of the NYSC inaugurated in September 2021.

He said the move was to deepen the strides of the NYSC towards entrenching work ethics of integrity, transparency, accountability and efficiency.

Ibrahim said, “We rely on you for the promotion of diligence at work, fairness and sincerity, in line with the standard set by the commission.

“You must always be conscious of the fact that our major responsibility as an organisation is to groom Nigerian graduate youths to be patriotic, disciplined and responsible as well as to promote national unity and development.”

The NYSC boss enjoined the ACTU sub-units to be above board in complementing the efforts of the main unit at the headquarters.
