The Leader of Government Business, Ekiti state House of Assembly, Hon Olugboyega Aribisogan has flagged off a Three Million Naira Social Security Scheme aimed at bringing succour the people in Ikole Local government area of Ekiti state.
Speaking at the Flag - off ceremony of the scheme on Sunday May 2, in Ijesa Isu Ekiti, Ikole local government, the Ikole Constituency 1 representative, in the State House of Assemby said the initiative is to assist our people in his Constituency. According to him, the scheme will also reward party faithfuls, men and women including the youth who have remained shown commitment and loyalty to the All Progressives Congress APC in the local government.
Hon Aribisogan described the role of Ikole women in the politics of the Local government as very supportive and laudable. " There's no doubt that our women have demonstrated immesurable loyalty and commitments to our party. They are our source of strength. They are the pillar of support for our great party."
He said about 300 party women will benefit from the first phase of the Social Security for Women programme while that of the Youth and Men will be launched in August this year.
He urged all other political office holders in the local government to encourgage the party members particularly the women and youth who are the mobilizers in the party.
The Local Government Chairman, of the All Progressives Congress Chief Dada Oni,and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender Development and Women Empowerment, Hon Chief Mrs Mojisola Fafure including the Acting Chairman of the APC Elder's Forum in the Ward, Elder Olomola Jegede presented the CASH GIFT of N5000 (Five Thousand Naira)each to the first batch of 50 Female Beneficiaries of the Scheme during the ceremony.
Ikole Local Government APC Chairman, Chief Dada Oni described the scheme as a good gesture that will further encourage party members to show more commitment to the party.
Other dignitaries at the occasion included the deputy Leader of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Tajudee Akingbolu, Ekiti West 1, Hon Yemi Osatuyi Oye 1 Chief Biodun Akin Fasae, Chairman EKSCDA, Mr Samuel Oluwole Chairman NIMRECO, AIG Olugbenga Adeyanju(Rtd) elders, leaders and members of the APC in the Ward.
