CAF: Enyimba lose 1-0 to Al-Ahly Benghazi

Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Confederation cup, Enyimba Football Club has been knocked out of the competition after losing 1-0 to their opponent, Al-Ahly Benghazi in their 5th group game.



The defeat denied the team opportunity to advance into the knockout stage of the competition.


Enyimba suffered a 1-0 defeat to Al-Ahly Benghazi in Thursday’s Caf Confederation Cup Group A game at Martyrs of February Stadium.


Muttasem El Taib scored the goal that made the difference in the encounter as the Butchers edged closer to qualifying for the next round of the competition.


Enyimba started the group stage of the tournament with a victory over Al-Ahly in Aba, before losing to Orlando Pirates


 

The team was faced with travelling issues and was in danger of a walkover loss.


In other CAF Confederation cup games played, Orlando Pirates were forced to a goalless draw by visiting ES Setif. Coton Sport lost 1-2 at home to JS Kabylie, NAPSA stars pipped RSB Berkane 1-0, CS Sfaxien beat Salitas 2-0, Etiole du sahel suffered a 1-0 away loss to Diaraf while Raja Casablanca humiliated Naumngo 3-0.
