The leader of the parliamentary and the councillor representing ward 5 in Ilesa West Local Government Area , Hon. Segun Olabode (a.k.a shigo pappy) has said that the unprecedented achievements of the Governor of the State of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola motivated him to give back to his people.
This he said during the empowerment program held on Thursday at African primary school Ilesa where he gave out items worth millions of Naira to over 200 party faithfuls and members of the communities within the local govt.
In his opening address, Hon.Olabode said the main reason why he dimmed it fit to give back to his people who had stood by him and gave him all the supports for the past three years in office was majorly to appreciate Governor Oyetola for giving him the opportunity to serve and for his achievements in office so far despite the pufity of funds in the state.
The leader said Governor Oyetola has proved to all and sundry that he's capable of taking the state to greater heights with all he has achieved and will still achieve in the state. He implored all the good people of the state to keep praying and supporting the governor because Oyetola is God's sent to the state of Osun.
In his Goodwill message, Pa Kunle Odeyemi who chaired the occasion expressed his satisfaction and happiness over the program saying "truely Segun Olabode is a party man because he has done so very well".
Pa Odeyemi said "I am happy to be part of this epoch making event where a parliamentarian is giving back to his people, this is worth commending and I appreciate Hon. Segun for doing this for our people".
He also used the opportunity to call on all APC members in Ilesa West LG to be in one accord and work in unity as that's the only way the party can keep witnessing more growth and development. He also advised other parliamentarians to emulate Hon. Segun and give back to their people in their respective wards.
In his own goodwill message, Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, the National Assembly Member who is representing Ijesha South Federal constituency said that APC is the only party that knows how to care and appreciate the masses. He commended Hon. Segun Olabode for his kind gesture and following his own footsteps in giving back and empowering the people who gave them their mandates to represent them at various levels. He said that all other government elected or appointees should follow suits so as to keep the party in power beyond 2023.
He also implored the masses to keep supporting Governor Oyetola and canvassed that returning the governor in 2022 will make the people to enjoy more dividends of democracy and move the land of Ijesha and the state forward.
