The chairperson of Osogbo West LCDA, Mrs Sekinat Temilade
Halid has berated Saturday's attack on the convoy of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola at the venue of the #ENDSARS protests in Osogbo, the state capital.
In a statement, Mrs Temilade described the attack as unthoughtful and one which negates the principle of civil protest as guaranteed by the nation's laws.
She said the assassination attempt on the Governor and attacks on his aides is unjust and uncalled for noting its capability of rendering such efforts in the future useless.
The Osogbo West LCDA chairperson also decried the civil unrest that permeated the state capital after the incident saying it is unruly and negates the true tenets of democracy.
Mrs Temilade appealed to residents of the ancient town to remain calm and be law abiding just as she assured of government's readiness to listsen to peaceful agitators for the growth and development of the country.
She also wished who sustained varying degree of injuries as a result of the unruly behaviour of the "political thugs" speedy recovery.
